Managing Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (RCFE)

Course description: The purpose of this course is to understand the changes that individuals go through during the course of their Dementia diagnosis.  We will go through the different types of Dementias and their ever-lasting effects of their lives.  Other topics that will be discussed is the behavioral aspects and tips on how to understand and care for individuals living with Dementia.  There will be a few videos that will explain what individuals with Dementia are feeling, so you as a caregiver will communicate deal with the symptoms associated with this deadly disease.   

This is a 10-hour course via LIVESTREAM. The course begins at 8am and ends at 6:30pm with a 30-minute lunch and 10-minute breaks relatively every hour but not held to.

Late policy

If a student is less than 30 minutes late for the start of the class on day one, then the student may make up the 30 minutes after the class with the instructor. If a student is returning more than 10 minutes late from breaks or lunch, they will need to repeat the day in another ICTP course corresponding with the same day that time was missed. If a student misses a day of the course, the student has 90 days to make up that particular day, otherwise they will need to repeat the course in its entirety.

Course Description:

The purpose of this course is to identify current laws and regulation updates that have been created for Adult Residential Facilities (ARF) and Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE). We will review major changes of past laws and regulations, and potential regulation changes for the future. We will review disaster regulations, requirements, and preparedness ready.

 Course Description: This course is designed to provide current information regarding HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis. In this course we will address details regarding the HIV/AIDS epidemic: modes of transmission; signs and symptoms; prevention methods; risk factors; and treatment strategies. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards will be discussed. 

This is a 5-hour course via LIVESTREAM. The course begins at 8am and ends at 1:00 pm.
